Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter Wreaths Across America at Arlington 2019

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the WAA mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.

The Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter invites you, your family and friends to join them as they remember our fallen heroes and participate in Wreaths Across America Day at Arlington National Cemetery.

If you can't attend, consider sponsoring a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, December 14, 2019
• Time:
  • 7 a.m. - Meet at the Marine Corps Memorial for group photo
  • 7:15 a.m. - Walk as a group to the Ord Weitzel Gate at Arlington National Cemetery
  • 8:30 a.m. - Opening Ceremony/Lay wreaths
• Location: Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA

Event Information:

• Our group will meet at the Marine Corps Memorial and walk to the Ord Weitzel Gate at Arlington National Cemetery together (about a 10 minute walk)
• Be sure to wear your Mount gear so we recognize fellow Mounties
• Opening Ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m.
• All ages welcome to lay wreaths
• Parking will be limited.  We encourage you to park elsewhere and walk or take the metro
• No food or drink is allowed on cemetery grounds (bottled water is okay)
• Remember when you place a wreath, you may be the first person to visit that grave in years, take time to read the stone and honor the memory of that hero.
